My Story

Help Pamela complete her Gender Transition

My Story

I spent the first 11 years of my life in the Redland Bay Shire. Its was around then that I started, what I didn't understand then, to experience an identity other than male. Getting through school especially years 11 and 12 were difficult as I had an innate need to express my gender properly which eventually came into conflict with the teachers and peers. Despite the inner conflict that I felt I had to repress eventually led me to become depressed at an early age of 16.
I was accepted into university as an Engineering Student for the Bachelor of Engineering USQ in 1991 and then later changed to QUT Bachelor of Engineering 1995-1997. The education I received is of excellent quality.
The years attending University were difficult as I had a lot of inner conflict about coming out as a transsexual. The internet came to Australia effectively for me in 1995 and I sought information about social groups and treatment options. Unfortunately there was not a lot activity and being a transsexual also meant legal discrimination. I sought treatment in 1997 for Gender Identity Disorder and was allowed to access hormones for the first time. Socially I wasn't prepared for transition and there was little or no social services or much medical services that catered to Transsexuals.
Eventually I became unwell and was hospitalised for 3 months, diagnosed with a mental disorder, after not be able to sleep for two weeks. The medical staff stabilised me effectively enough with high does' of dopamine medications. I spent the next 8 years in a dopamine haze that while able to function and complete a Degree, part-time, wasn't really able to express myself like a regular person.
By this time it was 2005 and the Anti-Discrimination Act covered Gender Identity and new medications became available and my life improved enough to be able to start transition again. So I sought treatment and ever since then I have been studying how to become the person I always wanted to be and that has a huge learning curve which I am continually endeavouring to complete.
So many great things have happened to my life since 2005 and now 2015 great computers and huge flat screen TV's, 3d-printing, mobile phones, and tablets. The ability to express yourself has really taken off and to be creative unlike ever before in history.
Now in 2015 I have been living as a full-time female as Pamela Georgie for nearly 6 years and have been in a very loving relationship for 5 years.
I want to be able to overcome my barriers and rejoin society as a creative and vibrant contributor. This is why I started this campaign to help overcome the last great barrier by having Gender Reassignment Surgery.
With this surgery I hope to be able to no longer require the Disability Support Pension as a means of support. I hope to start a small business in 3d Printing Design and Digital Dress Design services as a professional.

My hope is to take traditional women's ideas and digitize them. Like Designing Dresses, other clothes, shoes, jewelery and animatronics of female figures. Using 3d printing technology can really boost your ability to do these things and how to design them using 3d printing and other digital printing technology.
